At Our Lady of the Rosary Primary, exposure to and involvement in a range of sporting activities is seen as vital in a holistic education.
Sport at our school is about participation, teamwork, healthy lifestyle choices, skill development and, above all, fun.
All children are encouraged to become involved at a level with which they feel comfortable, and to extend this involvement to realise the potential harboured within each individual. Those children who exhibit particular talents in sport have access to representative sports at a number of levels, from school through to national.
Physical education
Specific PE sessions are scheduled on a weekly basis as part of the PDHPE Key Learning Area. These sessions are supplemented across the grades by activities such as gross motor programs, class and grade sport sessions, and occasional training clinics run by external agencies. The children may also elect to participate in a weekly after-school sports program – Motiv8.
