  • maintain a high standard of academic progress through quality learning and teaching
  • provide educational programs and associated support that cater for the varying ability levels and learning needs of all children
  • emphasise English and Mathematics, and develop skills of critical thinking and responsible learning
  • give high priority to the ongoing professional development of staff
  • secure appropriate resources and technology to support learning
  • evaluate and refine programs to meet emerging needs
  • value the role of parents in their children's education and encourage their active participation in school activities.

Key Learning Areas

Throughout the course of each week, children are involved in a wide variety of learning experiences in the Key Learning Areas (KLAs) of:

  • Religious Education
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Science and Technology
  • Human Society and Its Environment
  • Personal Development, Health and Physical Education
  • Creative Arts

The KLA of Religious Education is based on the Parramatta Diocesan Religious Education document Sharing Our Story, and the six other KLAs follow the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum recommendations.

Learning cohorts

The children from Kindergarten to Year 4 are assigned to a class grouping and will be involved in many of their learning experiences within their own class. At different times during the course of the week, children in these grades may be involved in activities which enable movement between individual class groupings.

The children in Stage Three (Years 5 and 6) are assigned to one of six home rooms at the commencement of the academic year. This room forms a base from which they operate during the school day.
