During October, as a school named in honour of Mary, Our Lady of the Rosary, our community started each day by praying a decade of the Rosary. Thank you to the members of our Faith in Action Team (FIAT) who took turns to lead us in prayer each day.

Nagle College Launches New STEM Scholarship for Future Innovators
Nagle College Blacktown has announced the launch of the “Christine Howe STEM Academic Scholarship”, a new opportunity designed to support and inspire young women passionate about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Students enrolling in Year 7 from 2026 are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which reflects the College’s ongoing commitment to excellence in learning within a supportive Catholic community.

Last week, children from across Years 3-6 participated in the Netball Gala Day. They had a lot of fun representing the school and playing as a team. Special mention must go to our Year 6 Boys team, who topped their division. Here they are after receiving their medals at assembly last Friday. Thank you for Mr Fitzsimons for his organisation, and to Mrs Fox, Miss Wilson and Mrs Luland for your support of our netball teams.

CUTENESS ALERT! Kindergarten have had some very special visitors join them this week… 12 ducklings have hatched in their classroom! The ducklings were so eager; some could hardly wait for Kindergarten to get back to school! 🥚➡️🦆 Kindergarten have absolutely loved watching them hatch over the past few days and learning about their life cycle. Once the ducklings get a little bigger, Kindergarten will be able to take them outside for some fresh air and exploring. They can’t wait!

At the end of last term, OLOR students joined children from across our parish to celebrate their First Reconciliation. We pray that they will continue to know God's boundless love and forgiveness throughout their lives.

At our OLOR Feast Day celebrations at the end of term, we had the opportunity to farewell Mrs Miller. Mrs Miller and her family are returning to Ireland. We thank Mrs Miller for her wonderful contribution to OLOR, and wish her and her family well in the years ahead.
